Rangnick's comments are a warning to Erik ten Hag

Ralf Rangnick's journey as interim manager of Manchester United or MU may not go down in history as one of success.

However, it may still be well remembered by fans given his no-nonsense approach and decision to challenge club protocol.

The German, came to United with great ideas to change a fractured club, but despite his best intentions, he found it very difficult to implement and make the necessary changes.

In principle, a manager like Rangnick is what United need, someone who is not afraid to reveal tough truths and an individual who has the authority and experience to challenge the decisions that have been made on him.

The 63-year-old may not walk as well as talk, although there is hope that Erik ten Hag certainly can.

Rangnick is believed to be an admirer of the Ajax boss and one of those who back his credentials as a future Manchester United manager. Time will tell if he manages to live up to such high expectations, but in doing so he may learn a valuable lesson from the man he replaced in the Old Trafford dugout.

As United's season began to deteriorate further, Rangnick became more outspoken. A bold call as he puts his long-term relationship with the club on the line to speak his mind, but a breath of fresh air for fans.

After a humiliating defeat to Liverpool last week, Rangnick broke the rankings to concede Jürgen Klopp's side six years ahead of United.

Furthermore, Rangnick went on to suggest his team need as many as 10 new players this summer if they are to make any changes.

There's no denying the fact that United are in need of a major overhaul, especially with so many players leaving for free at the end of the season.

However, the suggestion that ten players are needed does seem like hyperbole, perhaps an exaggeration. an overhaul is needed to show how important it is.
